The Dreamless Wander

Seeking something he may never find under an empty sky, Dell is on a quest to wash away his mistakes. Accompanied by his childhood friends Ansund and Awen, a light-hearted merchant's guard sacrificing his morals for survival, and a blunt yeowoman searching for information to protect their homeland, Dell travels to the edge of the Plane. In that cold, grey hinterland, where there is little more than wool, timber, and poor iron, they join Ration, an ignoble merchant, on a daring venture to extract more.

As Dell's quest for redemption becomes mired in smuggling, arms dealing, and surviving bandit and beast haunted wilderness, he realizes he must discover where his life is heading, not just how to get there. Unfortunately, the edge of the Plane has fallen under the eyes of the powerful, and the routes they take exact terrible tolls.

The Dreamless Wander, the debut novel from Christopher Mudd, is the first arc of The Parabola, a fantasy series following a melancholic wizard's journey across a bleak world as he tries to fix the mess he has made of his life.
